FERRARI 275 GTB Berlinetta

The FERRARI 275 GTB Berlinetta was launched in 1964 at the Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris.
It replaced the beautiful 250 GT/L Berlinetta. It is remarkable, that this is about the first Ferrari
with separated suspended rear wheels.

The fantastic design was created by Pininfarina again, who aligned the rear to the 250 GT/L and
the style elements had some influences in the 250 GTO of 1964. The car body was manufactured
by Scaglietti in Modena.

The centerpiece of the 275 GTB was the 1947 developed V12 engine, who has now a single stroke of 275 ccm
and adds up to a total engine displacement of 3285,7 ccm. By the use of three Weber two-barrel carburetors
the 275 GTB reached up to a performance of 280 bhp at 7600 r/min. Optional six Weber carburetors could be
ordered at Ferrari, which increased the performance up to 300 bhp.

In 1964 Ferrari designed a perfect fit, the Spider 275 GTS. Though it made use of the same engine and
the same chassis, it looked entirely different. The Berlinetta was designed more athletic and aggressive,
whereas the Spider goes around more gracious.

In October 1966 the 275 GTB/4 was also represented in Paris. The extended nomenclature illustrates the four
cam engine, which vary significantly from the 275 GTB. By the light modified design and the longer nose from
the 275 GTB/4 the 275 GTB was named afterwards: Short Nose.

Nowadays the 275 GTBs rank one of the most admired road-going sports cars among collectors and reach prices
from about €1.000.000, what is between the 275 GTB/4 and the 275 GTS pricewise.

Which is your favorite? 275 GTB Short Nose, 275 GTS or 275 GTB/4 Long Nose?

275 GTB Short Nose, 275 GTS oder 275 GTB/4 Long Nose?

ALFA ROMEO GIULIA 1600 SPRINT SPECIALE – 1963-1965

The Giulietta Sprint Speciale was launched in 1958, designed by Franco Scaglione at Bertone.
Simultaneously, the Giulietta SS, the Giulietta Spider Veloce 750F (by Pinin Farina) and
the Giulia Sprint Veloce 750 E (by Bertone) were released to the market. All of them have
the 1290-ccm-engine with an increased performance of 100 HP, the same one of the
Giulietta SZ (Zagato), which was conceived for motorsports. The Sprint Speciale shares
its chassis with the Sprint Zagato.

In 1963 the Giulietta Sprint Speciale was modified to the Giulia Sprint Speciale with 112 HP,
a 1570-ccm-engine and a maximum speed of 200 km/h. It's one of the most perfect and
elegant GTs of the 1960s, which highlights the fascination of the great-designed Alfa Romeos.

FERRARI 212 TOURING BARCHETTA
by Allegretti s/n 0183 EL (195 Inter Ghia Coupé #0183EL)

This FERRARI of 1951 has not only an obscure but also a very exciting history.
According to official FERRARI documents it was registered as 212 Export (Cartellina),
as 212 Europa (Fiches) and as 195 Ghia Berlina 2+2. After a short period the car was
modified by Pinin Farina and sold to Nicolas Franco. In 1985 David Piper – a great
FERRARI enthusiast and former Maranello Concessionaires Driver – purchased the car
and converted it into a Touring Berlinetta at Carrozzeria Allegretti in Modena, Italy.
The Touring Berlinetta is powered by a V12-60°-“Colombo“-Engine with 2562 ccm and
round about 160 HP Performance. In 2003 the car – meanwhile named as 212 Touring
by Allegretti Barchetta – appeared at the “Exceptional Ferrari Motor Cars, Automobilia
and Fine Watches“ Bonhams Auction in Gstaad, Switzerland. Nowadays the rarely

FERRARI found a new home in Zurich, Switzerland.
