FERRARI 212 TOURING BARCHETTA
by Allegretti s/n 0183 EL (195 Inter Ghia Coupé #0183EL)
This FERRARI of 1951 has not only an obscure but also a very exciting history.
According to official FERRARI documents it was registered as 212 Export (Cartellina),
as 212 Europa (Fiches) and as 195 Ghia Berlina 2+2. After a short period the car was
modified by Pinin Farina and sold to Nicolas Franco. In 1985 David Piper – a great
FERRARI enthusiast and former Maranello Concessionaires Driver – purchased the car
and converted it into a Touring Berlinetta at Carrozzeria Allegretti in Modena, Italy.
The Touring Berlinetta is powered by a V12-60°-“Colombo“-Engine with 2562 ccm and
round about 160 HP Performance. In 2003 the car – meanwhile named as 212 Touring
by Allegretti Barchetta – appeared at the “Exceptional Ferrari Motor Cars, Automobilia
and Fine Watches“ Bonhams Auction in Gstaad, Switzerland. Nowadays the rarely
FERRARI found a new home in Zurich, Switzerland.
